Athlete? Grinder?  It may be time for a customized guard.

Calling all athletes!  Mouthguards for Sports are critical.

At whole dental wellness we are all about prevention, and this includes preventing accidental trauma from contact sports.  If you participate in contact sports like hockey, football, boxing, lacrosse, and soccer, you should always wear a mouth guard.  You never know when you may catch a flying elbow or get a surprise blow to your head and neck!

Custom made mouthguards are far more effective – and comfortable – then over the counter splints you can buy at your local drugstore.  At whole dental wellness, we will work with you to customize your mouthgaurd utilizing our latest technology, ensuring a great expereicne everytime.  First we will take a digital scan of your teeth and surrounding gums.  We then transmit this information to a local lab – along with your what colors you would like your custom guard to be – and a week or so later we will have your personalized mouthguard ready for wear!

Occlusal Guards for Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)

Teeth grinding, also called Bruxism, is very common, affecting an estimated 10% of people and up to 15% of children.  Teeth grinding ranges from mild to severe, and may be caused by a number of things.

What causes Bruxism?

The short answer is we still don’t know for certain.  Stress, sleep disorders, and an abnormal bite all may play a role.

What should I do to treat this problem?

While the exact cause remains unknown, the important thing is that you contact us for a comprehensive evaluation if you have any of these signs or symptoms.  We will work with you to determine how we can alleviate your discomfort and get you back to feeling like your healthiest, best you.
